Varia Swiss Realtech Properties, a joint venture of Stoneweg and Decalia, is expanding its portfolio in German-speaking Switzerland. The company has purchased an industrial property built in 1990 in Gretzenbach (SO) with an area of approximately 5,200 sqm. It is a high-quality building that is also flexible and functional, Varia Swiss said. The property is located on a well-developed plot with direct access to the city of Aarau, it added.

According to Varia Swiss, it initially intends to consolidate the tenant portfolio and let the property on a sustainable, long-term basis. Thereafter, there is the possibility of developing a second industrial building with a further approx. 5,000 sqm on the adjacent property, so that the rental space increases to around 10,000 sqm.

In the fall of 2020, Varia Swiss in the canton of Solothurn has already acquired Meier Tobler's property in Däniken by way of a sale-and-leaseback. This should make it possible to exploit any synergies between the two locations and their tenants, says Diana Oblak, Managing Director at real estate investment manager Stoneweg Switzerland.

H&B Real Estate accompanied the transaction, which, according to Dario Hubli, Transaction Management Team Leader, went smoothly and quickly and was completed in just a few weeks.

Varia Swiss Realtech Properties was founded in 2017 and invests in Swiss commercial real estate. The company currently has 15 properties across Switzerland and a total portfolio value of CHF 380 million. (ah)
