At the end of November, the Kaiseraugst municipal assembly approved the revision of the subzone plan for the Aurica site. This means that buildings up to 30 m high can be built on the site in future. Previously, a maximum height of 22 m applied. In addition, the previous utilization ratio of 1.0 will be abolished without replacement. High-rise buildings of up to 60 m can be built in three defined locations. The development plan adopted by the municipal council in November 2024 will serve as the basis for future development. Among other things, it provides for green and open spaces of around 35,000 square meters on the site. In addition, a new public road will run through the site, guaranteeing transport links by bus.

Michel Eglin, Managing Director of the landowner Aurica AG, a subsidiary of AEW Energie AG and the Axpo Group, is pleased: «The intensive negotiations with the municipality have paid off». Several talks have already been held with interested companies. He is confident that «with the approved partial zoning plan revision, we will soon be able to sell the first parts of the site.»
