Zurich: Hotel operator for PSP property confirmed
A German hotel chain will implement a young concept with 173 rooms in an office building.

A hotel from the German chain Althoff Hotels will open on the Löwenbräu site in Zurich. The property owned by PSP Swiss Property on Limmatstrasse is set to open in 2028 with the «Urban Loft» brand, according to the Cologne-based company. It will be only the third building of the young concept after Cologne and Berlin and will comprise 173 rooms. On the seventh floor, there will be a publicly accessible space with changing exhibitions and pop-up stores as well as event operations. With «Urban Loft», Althoff is focusing on a «connection with the local community» with changing partners who will occupy the space.
The fact that PSP is planning a change of use for the «Red» office building on the site was already known. The site has recently been developed into a quarter with residential, office, gastronomy and cultural uses. «We look forward to breathing new life into the RED office building over the next two years - together with Althoff Hotels as a strong partner with a long-term vision,» says Reto Grunder, Chief Investment Officer of PSP. The new hotel will be an «enrichment for the Löwenbräu site and for the entire surrounding area». Althoff Hotels is already present in Switzerland with the Ameron brand - in Lucerne, Davos and Zurich. The country is a «very important market» for Althoff. (aw)
