As part of a public-private partnership, the canton of Geneva, the municipality of Bernex and the Caisse Inter-Entreprises de Prévoyance Professionnelle (CIEPP) are developing a new neighborhood for the municipality of Bernex. The plans have now been presented to the public.

In a total of 13 buildings, 550 rental and condominium apartments are to be realized. 10% of the total gross floor area of 64,000 sqm is earmarked for a range of stores and local services. Retailers, gastronomic offers and service providers are to be located on 6,400 sqm. It is already certain that Migros will open a branch in the new district.

A number of public uses are also planned, including a daycare center, rooms for extracurricular activities, a school cafeteria, community rooms and a gymnasium.

The plan is to start construction work on the first stage at the beginning of 2026. This is to be completed by 2028, and then realization will start for the second stage, which is also expected to take two years.

The investor and builder of the new quarter is CIEPP, while Losinger Marazzi is developing and realizing the project. (ah)
