The Green Village being built on the site of the World Council of Churches (WCC) in the Quartier des Nations in Geneva has reached a milestone. The investment foundation Swiss Life is buying the nine-story Kyoto administration building with a gross floor area of just over 14,000 square meters. It is scheduled to be handed over in the summer of 2024. The Montreal residential building, whose 48 condominiums will be completed this year, has already been sold in 2020. The Kyoto and Montreal buildings together form the first stage of the overall Green Village project.

Four buildings will be constructed as part of the second stage: the Ecumenical Center, the headquarters of the WCC, which will be renovated between 2024 and 2026; the Lima building, to be constructed at the same time, for sister organizations as well as tenants of the WCC; the Rio Hotel and Apart-Hotel with 250 rooms; and finally the Stockholm administration building. The latter will have 9,000 square meters of office space on seven floors of 1,250 square meters gross floor area each and is to be sold in condominium ownership. Marketing of the buildings has begun, Implenia says. (ah)
