The internationally active family-owned company Geistlich Pharma wants to create capacities for its further growth at the Wolhusen (LU) site. According to the medical technology company, the new production and logistics building "The Hub" will form the central component of the expansion. Scheduled for completion in 2026, it will be the largest building on the site and will unite all cleanroom, packaging and logistics processes under one roof. Up to now, these activities have been carried out in three buildings.

Depending on the standard of fit-out, the investment in "The Hub" will amount to between CHF 30 and 40 million, according to Geistlich. The concrete design of the new building is currently being planned and should be ready for planning permission by the end of the year. According to the medical technology company, everything is being financed from its own resources and the entire development of the site has therefore been designed on a modular basis in order to be able to react flexibly to market changes.
