Bonainvest Holding has announced that the long-standing Chairman of the Board of Directors, Ivo Bracher, will not be standing for re-election after around 17 years. The founder of Bonainvest has taken the company to a
balance sheet total of over CHF 670 million. Following his departure from the Board of Directors, Bracher will concentrate on his activities at Bonacasa and the development of intergenerational housing. Bracher will take over the minority shares in Bonacase previously held by Bonainvest Holding.

Isidor Stirnimann will also not be standing for re-election after 17 years on the Board of Directors due to his age. Thomas Kirchhofer, the current Vice Chairman, will be proposed as his successor as Chairman of the Board of Directors. The entrepreneur has many years of experience in the healthcare, hotel, real estate and age-appropriate living sectors. Kirchhofer has been a member of the Bonainvest Board of Directors since 2009. «He is intended to take over the chairmanship of the Board of Directors for an expected two-year period as part of a clearly defined transition phase and to ensure an orderly, reliable and future-oriented handover at the top of the Board during this time,» Bonainvest writes. After that, he will not be standing for a further term of office as Chairman.

Two new Board members

Lawyers Sandra Lathion and Nadia Tarolli will be proposed as new members of the Board of Directors at the next Annual General Meeting. Lathion is a member of the Board of Directors of Swisscom and Raiffeisen Switzerland. Tarolli is a partner at the law firm Vischer, where she heads the Basel tax team and the occupational pensions specialist group. She is also Vice President of the Bank Council of Basellandschaftliche Kantonalbank and a member of the Board of Directors of VZ Holding AG.

The management of Bonainvest Holding had already been regrouped in January: Daniel Baumann took over as CEO, succeeding Jacques Garnier. Christoph Elmiger has taken over Adrian Sidler's management duties as COO. Financial responsibility remains with Stéphanie Sidler as CFO.

Bonainvest and Bonacasa to cooperate further

Regarding the sale of the minority stake in Bonacase, Bonainvest states that this step will allow it to focus as a pure real estate investment company with a clear strategic profile. «The new structure creates a higher degree of transparency and governance, which meets the requirements of both existing shareholders and potential new investors,» writes Bonainvest. However, the collaboration between the two companies will remain unaffected by the sale. «Bonainvest will continue to develop and realize properties according to Bonacasa standards and rely on Bonacasa's proven services in operation.
