Data center: "The beginning of another wave of investment"
Switzerland's largest data center provider has begun construction of a new data center on the Metro Campus Zurich West in Lupfig (AG). The company intends to double its capacity in just a few years.

Data center provider Green has started construction of another data center on the Zurich West metro campus. It is the fourth data center on the site in Lupfig (AG). It will provide 5,526 square meters of data center space and around 2,000 square meters of office space.
According to the company, the strong demand for computing capacity as a result of the boom in AI applications has accelerated the start of construction. At the same time, the outsourcing of company-owned data centers is increasing. "We are at the beginning of another wave of investment," explains Roger Süess, CEO of Green, which claims to be the largest data center specialist in Switzerland. He announces that his company will double its data center capacity in the next two to three years. New locations are currently being evaluated.
The new facility on the Zurich West Campus will be equipped with a waste heat extraction system to supply the region with climate-neutral heating. The waste heat flows into the new Naturenergie Eigenamt heating network, which is operated by IBB Energie AG. Green also uses natural cooling from the ambient air for cooling, thereby minimizing energy consumption. (aw)
