SBB continues with projects that are ready for construction after all
The suspension of SBB real estate projects announced in January will be lifted. Projects that are ready for construction and important for communities and regions are to be realized without interruption.
After discussions with the owner, one had the reduction in investments in the real estate sector communicated at the end of January SBB has announced that it has adjusted its plans. The projects in Renens, Bern, Zurich, Horgen-Oberdorf and Winterthur will now be realized as originally planned. For most of the projects, the conditions are in place for construction to begin by summer 2022.
The planning of a further 30 or so projects, for which a gradual suspension was planned over the next few months, will also be continued, according to the information provided. Before they are realized, however, the company wants to assess the situation together with the owner - as soon as there is more clarity about how the Corona pandemic will affect SBB's financial situation in the medium term.
