The site, which Swiss Life Asset Managers acquired, is located at Weidenbaumsweg 133-143 along the Schleusengraben in Hamburg-Bergedorf. It is one of the largest residential development sites in Hamburg, Swiss Life said. The site is previously known under the project name Weidensteg.

A total of twelve structures with a gross floor area of approximately 77,000 square meters are to be built here. In addition to residential use, a local supply center with supermarket and drugstore is planned. Along Weidenbaumsweg, publicly subsidized apartments and a daycare center, among other things, will also be built in a perimeter block development.

With the purchase of the land, the realization of the residential units is now to be implemented swiftly, Swiss Life Asset Managers announces. Preparatory construction measures are to begin this year.

Swiss Life Asset Managers is already invested in Hamburg-Bergedorf: Fund companies own large parts of Bergedorfer Tor (health and care) and the Glasbläserhöfe commercial estate. In Altona, the asset manager is realizing a project development on Holstenstrasse. There, 47 apartments, four commercial units and an underground car park are being built. (ah)
