Marti Gesamtleistungen AG, a member of the Marti Group, developed the site with the listed Villa Schmid on behalf of Schlössli Burgdorf AG. At the end of August, Marti Gesamtleistungen then finalised the acquisition of the investment property with Helvetia Swiss Insurance Company.

The plan is to renovate the historic Villa Schmid and also restore the park surroundings. Two spacious apartments will be built in the villa, and a total of 54 rental apartments (2.5 to 5.5 rooms) are planned in two flanking new buildings. A parking garage will connect the new buildings underground. On the ground floor and along a public footpath connection between Kirchbergstrasse and the railway station underpass, areas for services and commerce are planned. The town of Burgdorf is also financing a public bicycle station along this axis.

According to Marti, the building application will be submitted for approval next year. The apartments should be ready for occupancy in spring 2025. (ah)
