Zurich: Hardturm project accepted at the ballot box

Almost 60% of Zurich's voters say yes to the superstructure with soccer stadium and residential towers that Credit Suisse, HRS and ABZ want to build on the Hardturm site.

59.1% of the voters were in favor of accepting the private design plan for the construction project, 40.9% were against. The last time the large-scale project was put to the vote was in 2018, when the approval was only 54%.

On the 55,000-square-meter Hardturm site, Credit Suisse, HRS and Allgemeine Baugenossenschaft Zürich (ABZ) are planning 174 cooperative apartments, a stadium for around 18,000 spectators and two 137-meter-high high-rises with around 570 apartments and office space. According to earlier information, the total costs amount to around CHF 570 million. (ah)
