Neuhausen: Hotel planned at the Rhine Falls
The Fortimo Group and its subsidiary Revier Hospitality Group want to build a hotel with 140 rooms on the SIG site in Neuhausen (SH).

The former industrial site in Neuhausen am Rheinfall, which covers a good 120,000 sqm, is being converted into a quarter for work, living, education and leisure. According to a report in the Schaffhauser Nachrichten, the Fortimo Group and its subsidiary are now also planning a hotel there. Many of the 140 rooms will have a direct view of the Rhine Falls.
A seven-storey building designed by Joos und Mathys Architekten from Zurich is planned. Rooms of different categories and in the medium price segment are planned. There will be "Smart Cabins" of around 16 sqm with reduced furnishings as well as 28 sqm "Smart Flats", which will have a kitchen, separate bedroom and office and are aimed at guests who are staying on site for longer. Catering facilities are planned for the ground floor, and there will also be meeting rooms for up to 100 people.
According to the newspaper report, the SIG Charitable Foundation, which is developing the site, is offering Fortimo the prospect of a building lease for the new building. At the same time, it wants to build other projects in the perimeter, including 30 apartments as well as commercial and studio space. In order to be able to build the hotel, the so-called middle building must be demolished; an agreement has already been reached with the monument preservation authorities. (ah)
