Basel region: SFPI acquires rolling mill site
Die Swiss Finance & Property Investment AG übernimmt per 1. August 2017 das rund 40.000 qm grosse Walzwerk-Areal in Münchenstein und Arlesheim (beide BL).
Swiss Finance & Property Investment states the purchase price at CHF 53.7 million. The site of the former Alu Münchenstein AG, which was built between 1918 and 1974, is located in the two municipalities of Münchenstein and Arlesheim in the canton of Basel-Landschaft. The site is currently used for commercial purposes and generates a rental income of over 2.7 million per year (gross yield: over 5 %).
The commercial and industrial site offers further major development opportunities with its existing use and the approximately 10,000 sqm of additional net space, according to the real estate investment company. Currently, the integration of the leases of the more than 80 mainly commercial tenants into the portfolio of Swiss Finance & Property Investment AG is underway.
The site will be taken over with its existing use until further notice and current leases will continue, the buyer assures.
