Zug: Losinger Marazzi builds for the canton and public transport companies
Losinger Marazzi is realizing the new main base of Zugerland Verkehrsbetriebe as well as the new building for the Zug rescue service and the cantonal administration.

Losinger Marazzi has signed a contract for the construction of two new buildings with the Canton of Zug and Zugerland Verkehrsbetriebe AG. These are the new main base of Zugerland Verkehrsbetriebe (ZVB) and the new building for the Zug Rescue Service (RDZ) as well as new offices for the cantonal administration. Losinger Marazzi was awarded the corresponding contract for the TU tender back in February 2025. Construction work on the two projects will begin next summer and should be completed by 2030.
The legally valid building permit for the new main base of Zugerland Verkehrsbetriebe (ZVB) and the new building for the Zug Rescue Service (RDZ) and the cantonal administration has been in place since February. This was preceded by a 16-year planning and approval phase. The total gross floor area to be built is around 26,000 square meters. Losinger Marazzi was awarded the contract for three sub-projects: the construction of the two buildings for the ZVB and the canton as well as the corresponding tenant fit-outs. «Thanks to a special civil engineering concept developed by Losinger Marazzi, the construction time will be shortened,» writes the construction company in a press release.
250 office workplaces for the canton
The «An der Aa» site is centrally located on the two transport axes General-Guisan-Strasse and Aabachstrasse as well as on the railroad line between Zug and Cham. The ZVB and the RDZ already operate from there today. Both organizations need more space and a modern infrastructure. The current premises will be completely renovated as part of the project. Buses will be parked underground in the future new multi-storey ZVB building. In a second building, the Zug rescue service will have a modern base and the cantonal administration around 250 office workplaces. The project is aiming for the Minergie-P-ECO standard.
Losinger Marazzi is already realizing the conversion project for the former Landis & Gyr headquarters and production site in Zug. New service areas and apartments are being built there. (aw)
