Horgen: Swiss Life buys seminar hotel from UBS
The new owner also wants to use the Bocken site, the former Credit Suisse conference center, for internal events.

UBS has sold the Bocken seminar hotel and country estate in Horgen (ZH) to Swiss Life. UBS writes in a press release that "a very good and long-term solution has been found for this regionally anchored conference and event venue". Following the acquisition of Credit Suisse, UBS owned two training centers - the UBS Center for Education and Dialogue Wolfsberg in addition to the Seminarhotel Bocken. Since its reopening in 2020, the Wolfsberg has offered significantly greater capacity for seminars and events organized by UBS and individual third parties, UBS added.
Swiss Life will use the site for internal events and further training. However, Matthias Aellig, CEO of the Swiss Life Group, also plans to open the site to external guests.
Credit Suisse rebuilt
The "Credit Suisse Communication Center" was opened on the Bocken site in April 1994. A new seminar building with 40 rooms was built in an integrated hotel wing, while meeting rooms for the management were set up in a historic country house. In 2003 and 2004, the equestrian building on the site was converted into an event location and restaurant. (aw)
