Manor wants to concentrate its food business on the large locations in French-speaking Switzerland and Ticino in future and is giving up three supermarkets in German-speaking Switzerland. According to a press release, the department store group is examining new cooperation models and will be handing over its locations in Basel, Rapperswil and Emmen to Coop over the next two years. At the same time, the company is announcing that it will invest CHF 200 million in the redesign of space, particularly in fashion, local food offerings and the modernization of the large Manor Food supermarkets and restaurants.

The reason for limiting the supermarket presence to French-speaking Switzerland and Ticino is "the successful development in these regions", writes Manor. The focus there will continue to be on "fait maison" and "local" as well as freshness and service. Manor also intends to withdraw from Morges, where it operates a supermarket with an area of less than 1,000 square meters, and hand over operations to Migros. This is expected to happen in mid-2026.

According to the information provided, the planned investments in fashion areas relate to 20,000 square meters at twelve locations. (aw)
