ULI Switzerland: Two new members on the Executive Committee
Sabrina Contratto and Joëlle Zimmerli run their own planning offices and are board members of major Swiss real estate companies.

Sabrina Contratto and Joëlle Zimmerli were appointed to the Executive Committee of the Urban Land Institute (ULI) in Switzerland on June 1.
Contratto is an ETH architect and expert in integrative urban development. After studying architecture at ETH Zurich and completing further training in urban management, she was a partner at the internationally active Baumschlager Eberle Zurich office for 17 years. In 2018, she founded the Cont-S office, which combines spatial data and urban planning expertise for development strategies for cities, municipalities and areas at the interface of architecture and spatial planning. She is a lecturer at the University of Applied Sciences of Eastern Switzerland and the Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts. Contratto is also a member of the Board of Directors of Mobimo, a member of the Commissione Urbanistica Lugano (CURB) and an expert in national architecture and urban development competitions. At ULI, she wants to get involved in the topic of spatial and urban development and the "careful use of resources, comprehensive planning and ensuring attractive public spaces".
Joëlle Zimmerli is the owner and managing director of the Zurich-based social science planning and development office Zimraum GmbH. With a doctorate in planning and architectural sociology, she works as a consultant in German-speaking countries and lectures at the Technical University of Berlin on the Real Estate Management Master's program, among others. Zimmerli is a board member of the listed real estate company Zug Estates AG, a board member of Gartenmann Engineering and a board member of the Homebase cooperative. Her focus is on affordable housing, social sustainability, housing for the elderly and the development of mixed-use areas. She mediates between the concerns of various stakeholders from the public sector, non-profit organizations and the real estate industry. Zimmerli declares the transnational dialog in the field of affordable housing to be one of the focal points of her work at ULI. "The aim is to promote the exchange of knowledge and experience between the European ULI organizations, to make innovative solutions visible and to provide joint impetus for sustainable urban development."
