L'edilizia compatibile con il clima \u00e8 un elemento importante per raggiungere questo obiettivo\", afferma Gabriele B\u00fchler, responsabile del progetto presso le FFS. Nella progettazione sono state inserite diverse misure costruttive compatibili con il clima. Ad esempio, la disposizione dei nuovi edifici consentir\u00e0 anche in futuro una buona circolazione delle correnti d'aria fresca. Dove possibile, l'acqua del tetto viene infiltrata in un sistema fuori terra e serve anche per il raffreddamento. Le superfici sigillate saranno per quanto possibile non sigillate. La trasformazione segue un approccio sistemico che considera gli edifici nel loro intero ciclo di vita. Per garantire la circolarit\u00e0, tutti i componenti dell'edificio sono registrati sulla piattaforma Madaster. L'acqua di falda, raccolta in quattro pozzi del sito, serve come fonte per il riscaldamento e il raffreddamento. Una rete energetica separata collega tutti gli edifici e garantisce lo scambio di energia in eccesso tra i gruppi di edifici. Parte dell'elettricit\u00e0 consumata dai Werkst\u00e4dter*innen \u00e8 prodotta in loco con il fotovoltaico. Le FFS obbligano gli inquilini del sito a partecipare a un'associazione di autoconsumo (ZEV). Una volta completata, la ZEV sar\u00e0 composta da circa 300 persone che utilizzeranno l'elettricit\u00e0 prodotta localmente sul posto.
