Di conseguenza, oggi in Svizzera si vive e si lavora in meno spazio per persona rispetto a cinque anni fa. Questa \u00e8 la conclusione della nuova statistica delle zone edificabili dell'Ufficio federale per lo sviluppo territoriale ARE.<\/p>\n<p>In media, un abitante ha attualmente bisogno di 282 mq di spazio in zona edificabile, rispetto ai 291 mq di cinque anni fa e ai 309 mq di dieci anni fa. Secondo l'ARE, i nuovi edifici vengono costruiti pi\u00f9 grandi o pi\u00f9 alti per sfruttare maggiormente le zone edificabili. Questo vale sia per le zone edificate che per quelle di nuova costruzione. Complessivamente, la superficie delle zone edificabili quest'anno \u00e8 di 234.000 ettari, solo l'1% in pi\u00f9 rispetto al 2017.<\/p>\n<p>Il fatto che non si creino praticamente nuove zone edificabili \u00e8 dovuto principalmente alla pianificazione territoriale dei Cantoni. Richiede ai comuni di sviluppare i loro insediamenti verso l'interno e di costruire pi\u00f9 densamente. Tuttavia, l'ARE rileva che esistono ancora notevoli riserve di terreni edificabili. Secondo l'Ufficio federale, poco meno della met\u00e0 delle zone edificabili attualmente non sviluppate si trova in aree urbane, poco pi\u00f9 di un quarto in comuni vicini alle aree urbane e un
