Anche il comproprietario FFS sta progettando appartamenti. Le associazioni imprenditoriali, invece, chiedono che il sito venga mantenuto come area economica. L'Associazione del Commercio di Basilea Citt\u00e0 (GVBS) e la Camera di Commercio di Basilea hanno presentato le loro idee per il futuro del sito di Lysb\u00fcchel con il titolo \"Densificare invece di sfollare\".<\/p>\n<p>Il sito si trova al centro di una cintura di fabbriche che si estende dal mattatoio al campus Novartis e oltre il Reno. Il GVBS e la Camera di commercio ritengono che l'uso residenziale, come previsto dal Cantone e dalle FFS, avrebbe un effetto divisivo in questa cintura industriale e porterebbe alla dislocazione di aziende nel medio termine. Secondo le associazioni, invece, esiste un grande potenziale di densificazione: il sito offre spazio per nuovi edifici industriali con accesso a livello del suolo. Le associazioni propongono la costruzione di grandi edifici commerciali che possano ospitare imprese locali e nuove aziende. Inoltre, sarebbe ipotizzabile un uso culturale, ad esempio per club o bar.<\/p>\n<p>Tuttavia, i proprietari del sito hanno altri piani: vogliono costruire appartamenti. Il proprietario pi\u00f9 grande \u00e8 quello delle FFS, con quasi 70.000 metri quadrati, che vuole costruire un edificio commerciale all'angolo nord e appartamenti. Poco si sa dei piani del Cantone, che possiede 34.000 metri quadrati nella zona industriale: Il Cantone sta valutando la possibilit\u00e0 di costruire una scuola elementare sul sito e l'attuale parcheggio multipiano deve lasciare il posto a un complesso residenziale. La Fondazione Habitat, che possiede circa 12.000 metri quadrati nella zona 5a, vuole aggiungere ai suoi edifici residenziali gi\u00e0 esistenti.
