Ci\u00f2 significa che un numero significativamente maggiore di persone vive in un'area praticamente costante. La superficie media delle zone edificabili \u00e8 diminuita di 18 mq, passando da 309 a 291 mq per abitante. Questo \u00e8 il risultato delle statistiche sulle zone edificabili in Svizzera, ora aggiornate dall'Ufficio federale dello sviluppo territoriale (ARE). Le statistiche si basano sui geodati dei cantoni e vengono raccolte ogni cinque anni.<\/p>\n<p>La superficie totale delle zone edificabili in Svizzera nel 2017, ovvero le aree edificate e non edificate, \u00e8 di 232.038 ettari. Quasi la met\u00e0 di queste sono zone residenziali. Le zone di lavoro, miste e centrali e le zone ad uso pubblico rappresentano ciascuna tra l'11 e il 14%. La percentuale di zone edificabili non sviluppate \u00e8 leggermente diminuita. Rispetto alle ultime statistiche di cinque anni fa, sono stati edificati di recente tra i 2.100 e i 2.500 ettari, che corrispondono all'incirca alla superficie del lago di Walen. Nel 2017, le zone di lavoro avevano di gran lunga la quota maggiore di aree edificabili non sviluppate (dal 33 al 41%), seguite dalle zone residenziali (dall'11 al 19%).<\/p>\n<p>Le statistiche mostrano anche che l'accessibilit\u00e0 delle zone edificabili con i mezzi pubblici \u00e8 migliorata sensibilmente tra il 2012 e il 2017. La quota di zone edificabili con accessibilit\u00e0 molto buona, buona e media \u00e8 aumentata dal 37 al 41%. Queste aree sono in gran parte situate nelle zone urbane e coprono due terzi degli abitanti e dei dipendenti.<\/p>\n<p>Se le zone edificabili ancora non sviluppate fossero completamente edificate con la stessa densit\u00e0 delle zone edificate, offrirebbero spazio per un totale di circa 1,0-1,7 milioni di abitanti in pi\u00f9, afferma l'ARE, precisando al contempo che si tratta di un calcolo teorico.
