Completion is scheduled for the end of 2018.<\/p>\n<p>The trio of high-rise buildings near Altstetten station, with a floor area of 58,000 square meters, will in future house around 300 rental apartments with services as well as commercial and restaurant space on the first floor. In addition, a hotel with 320 rooms is being built on the first five upper floors of the base building; it is Switzerland's first \"a-ja City Resort\".<\/p>\n<p>Beat Schmid, overall project manager at Steiner responsible for the superstructure, says: \"On average, we raised one residential floor within seven working days and are therefore very much on schedule.\" The interior work will be completed in the coming months, and the building is scheduled to be handed over to the client in November 2018.<\/p>\n<p>The Vulcano site at Vulkanstrasse 110 in Zurich-Altstetten was formerly home to the Vulcan AG automobile and motorboat factory, which benefited from the site's good rail links as early as 1880. The new building project is now to become a new landmark for Altstetten. Edwin M\u00fcller, overall project manager of the developer CSA RES, says: \"Altstetten presents itself as an up-and-coming district of Zurich. Thanks to the continuous upgrading of the working environment, not only modern commercial properties but also high-quality residential space have been built here in recent years.
