(Visualization: Hosoya Schaefer Architects)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>With the \"Zug Technology Cluster\", V-ZUG intends to create a \"Center for Technology and Innovation\" on its site. To this end, the company's own production facilities are to be modernized and concentrated, while other manufacturing companies, start-ups, training and research institutions and industry-related users from the commercial and service sectors are also to be located on the site. According to V-ZUG, the currently closed industrial site is to become an \"ecosystem for innovation and production in the technology sector\". Residential space is also to be created.<\/p>\n<p>The Zug City Council welcomes the plans of Metall Zug AG. An \"Area Planning Technology Cluster Zug\" has been drawn up, which creates the conditions for the new industrial site. This comprises the necessary adjustments to the building regulations and the zoning plan, the development plan and the environmental impact report.<\/p>\n<h2>High-rise buildings are also possible<\/h2>\n<p>The development plan extends from Baarerstrasse via Industriestrasse to Oberallmendstrasse and from G\u00f6blistrasse via Ahornstrasse to Grienbachstrasse. The site is located in the densification area of the cantonal structure plan and covers an area of just under 83,000 square meters. The development plan provides for eight building sites.<\/p>\n<p>On the one hand, the boundary lines and maximum possible heights are defined for each area, and on the other hand, a maximum possible building volume is defined for all areas together. According to information from the city of Zug, this amounts to 990,000 cubic meters. At least one third of this is reserved for production and logistics. In addition, other uses are planned for services, commerce and apartments. High-rise buildings up to a height of 50 meters are permitted. A single building on Baarerstrasse may have a maximum height of 60 meters. The height specifications correspond to the current status of the municipal building regulations. Architectural competitions are mandatory for all future buildings on the site.<\/p>\n<p>Zug's Grand Municipal Council is expected to discuss the \"Technology Cluster Area Planning\" in a first reading this fall. The second reading is planned for spring 2018. In between, the public circulation will take place. Provided that the Great Municipal Council does not decide on a referendum by the authorities, the ordinary referendum period will then run. If no significant objections are received in the course of the public circulation or an appeal to the government council and the administrative court delays the legal validity, the area planning can
