A further CHF 9.75 million is to follow.<\/p>\n<p>In April, the City of Zurich acquired the approximately 30,000 square meter \"Harsplen\" site on the outskirts of Zurich-Witikon from Swisscanto <a href=\"https:\/\/www.immobilienbusiness.ch\/en\/regionen\/2024-03-22\/zuerich-stadt-kauft-wohnprojekt-von-swisscanto-ast-fuer-210-millionen\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">(IB reported)<\/a>. The price included preliminary project planning costs for a housing project that the city now wants to realize. Following the acquisition, \"the original assumption that the construction project largely meets the city's requirements has been confirmed\", writes the City of Zurich in a press release.<\/p>\n<p>This is the first municipal housing estate in Witikon. It fits in well with municipal housing construction and, according to the city, makes a valuable contribution to achieving the city's \"one-third target\", which envisages one-third non-profit rental apartments by 2050. In addition to around 370 apartments, six commercial units are planned. The construction project is to be further optimized and a cost estimate drawn up before the project planning is completed.<\/p>\n<h3>Referendum probably in 2025<\/h3>\n<p>To this end, the previously approved project planning credit of CHF 0.96 million was to be increased by CHF 10.79 million to a total of CHF 11.75 million. \"In order to avoid a planning interruption, the city council approved an additional credit of CHF 1.04 million as a first step,\" said the city. The remaining funds will be requested from the municipal council.
