At 200 meters long, 100 meters wide and 26 meters high, it would be one of the largest logistics projects in the canton of Vaud.<\/p>\n<p>The main tenant for the project has already been determined: the Swedish furniture company Ikea wants to occupy a maximum of 60 percent of the space by 2023. However, there are no plans for a furniture store; rather, Ikea wants to further develop its online business at the site.<\/p>\n<p>However, in order for the project to be realized, the canton of Vaud must still repeal a provision that protects the old walls of the former Roman city and prohibits any construction activity. Subsequently, the parliament must confirm the exchange of the parcels.
