By summer 2025, office, retail and restaurant space will be created in the listed building of the former main post office, which not only has a unique location, but also meets the criteria of a good work-life balance: Working, shopping, enjoying - all in one place with the shortest distances to the pulse of urban life. The historic fa\u00e7ade has been preserved, while the interior of the building shines in new splendor: flooded with light, spacious and inspiring with numerous meeting zones.<\/p>\n

Office space with a view<\/h3>\n

The client, AXA Investment Foundation, is working on this exciting construction project with the renowned Basel architects Herzog & de Meuron. Since August 2023, 7,900 m2 of office, restaurant and retail space has been created within the historic walls. The preservation of the fa\u00e7ade and the renovation of the interior create a harmonious blend of history and modernity. The existing building will be retained and become a center for contemporary and innovative uses. A new light-flooded inner courtyard surrounds the office space, which extends from the 1st to the 5th floor. A total of 5,000 m\u00b2 of well-designed city center offices are on offer. On the top two floors, there are also special areas with outdoor access and breathtaking views, which can be used individually.<\/p>\n

Meeting place in the counter hall<\/h3>\n

Following the refurbishment, a meeting place will be created in the former main post office counter hall which, together with the high-quality designed passageway and the office lobby, will form the heart of the building.
\nThe passageway fulfills several important functions: On the one hand, it connects Freie Strasse with Gerbergasse and on the other, it provides access to the upper floors.
