The housing stock in Bern increased by 576 to 78,900 apartments last year. This is the result of the report of Statistik Stadt Bern on residential construction activity in the city. The increase included 43% apartments in new buildings and 57% conversions and conversions.<\/p>\n

At the end of 2022, 801 new apartments were under construction in 34 buildings. A further 455 apartments are currently being built as a result of conversions or changes of use. On the other hand, 165 apartments will be lost due to demolition, conversion or change of use, according to Statistik Stadt Bern. This results in a net increase of 1,091 units (previous year: 1,511).
