As among others the online portal htr.ch<\/em> reports<\/a>The Fortimo Group from St. Gallen has purchased the Grand Hotel Regina in Grindelwald at auction. For CHF 18.5 million, the Group was awarded the hotel complex, the surrounding building plots and the inventory. The Pension Foundation of Swiss Assistant and Senior Physicians had also participated in the auction.<\/p>\n

The previous owners wanted to rebuild and expand the Grand Hotel, but reportedly could not find investors. A building permit already exists, it was extended until the end of November 2023<\/p>\n

According to Fortimo co-founder Remo Bienz, the hotel and the other planned buildings are to be realized \"as quickly as possible and in accordance with the applicable zoning ordinance\".<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, the Fortimo Group announces that it will take over the Hotel S\u00e4ntispark in Abtwil (SG) from Migros Ostschweiz as of October 1, 2022. The hotel was opened in 1987 and renovated and expanded in 2014. It offers 136 rooms and suites with 260 beds, two restaurants, a bar & lounge with terrace, seminar and event facilities on 640 sqm as well as a center for medicine and sports operated by Medbase AG.<\/p>\n

The offers are to remain in place, and Fortimo and Migros Ostschweiz also want to continue the close cooperation between the hotel and the S\u00e4ntispark leisure center, according to the statement. \"We see a St. Gallen hotel location in the immediate vicinity of the Kybunpark and the Gr\u00fcndenmoos sports field, as well as the area of the neighboring S\u00e4ntispark with its nationally renowned pool and sauna world, as a great opportunity for Fortimo,\" Remo Bienz was quoted as saying.<\/p>\n

Within the Revier Hospitality Group, Fortimo already operates hotels in Adelboden, Lenzerheide as well as in Montafon in Vorarlberg and in Dubai. Further hotels are being built in Laax, Neuhausen am Rheinfall and Saas Fee, and development of additional projects is underway in Engelberg and Celerina.
