Less than two years after its opening, The Circle has received two important sustainability labels: the Minergie- LEED Platinum certificate.<\/p>\n

LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) is considered one of the world's best-known sustainability certifications for buildings. It aims to promote healthy, durable, affordable and environmentally sustainable construction. The Circle received 93 out of a possible 110 points, making it LEED Platinum certified. According to Zurich Airport, it is the highest score ever received by a LEED Platinum certified building in Switzerland. Both in Switzerland and in Europe, the Circle is also the largest building complex with this certification, it said.<\/p>\n

The Minergie standard is awarded to buildings that meet certain specifications in terms of energy requirements. In the case of the Circle, the above-average energy efficiency and the high proportion of renewable energy via geothermal probes and photovoltaic systems were decisive for certification. The entire development manages almost entirely without fossil fuels.<\/p>\n
