Six Senses is \"in the very final stages of establishing a presence in Crans-Montana\", as Six Senses President Bernhard Bohnenberger told the Handelszeitung<\/em> says. They hope to be able to sign the management contract very soon and, if all goes well, construction could begin in spring 2017. The opening would then be for the 2019\/2020 winter season.<\/p>\n

The hotel in Crans-Montana is to become a \"ski-in\/ski-out\" operation with direct access to the slopes. According to the newspaper report, 17 private residences are planned, each with three to five bedrooms and 48 suites. The entire complex will offer space for 200 guests. Experts estimate that the construction costs will be between CHF 65 and 70 million, reports the Handelszeitung<\/em> further. Six Senses does not invest in the hotel buildings itself, but is purely a management company. It is not yet publicly known who the investor in Crans-Montana will be.<\/p>\n

The hotel group was founded in 1995 and is majority-owned by US private equity investor Pegasus. It operates ten resorts and 28 spas in 19 countries - mainly in Asia. According to the company, the portfolio is to be tripled over the next five years and new resorts, hotels and spas are planned worldwide, including in Austria, Italy, the USA and Switzerland in addition to many Asian countries.
