The background to this is that in the years before the pandemic, more and more temporary rental accommodation had been built in Bern's old town, in particular commercially used vacation homes or business apartments. The city now wants to restrict this in order to prevent displacement of the residential population.<\/p>\n<p>Classic forms of \"homesharing\" in primary residences remain permissible; in addition, the grandfathering guarantee for existing offers in secondary residences applies under certain conditions. <em>(ah)<\/em><\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The commercial rental of second homes in the old town of Bern will be severely restricted.
