The project includes administrative buildings intended in particular for international organizations and service companies. A hotel complex and apartments are also planned. The Green Village is located in the centre of Geneva's international district and in the middle of a landscaped park.<\/p>\n<p>Each building in the Green Village is named after one of the major international agreements on sustainable development: Kyoto, Montreal, Rio, Lima, Durban and Stockholm. The Kyoto office building and the Montreal building with apartments will be built in the first construction phase. The stage is scheduled for completion at the end of 2022 or beginning of 2023, according to developer Implenia.<\/p>\n<p>The buildings will meet the requirements of the OPL label, it continues. Materials will preferably be sourced from the local economy, and demolition materials will be recycled wherever possible. The buildings will be powered by renewable energy, and an on-site collection point and the waste recycling policy of the municipality of Le Grand-Saconnex will enable the zero-waste target to be achieved.<\/p>\n<p>The Swiss Association for One Planet Living Neighbourhoods promotes the construction of sustainable neighbourhoods according to the principles of the Bioregional Initiative and WWF International in Switzerland and certifies their realisation.
