The concept study that has now been presented focuses on public space: the individual districts and meeting points are to be connected with a thoroughfare that creates a spatial identity on the one hand and meets the needs of local residents on the other, according to Luzern-Plus and the LuzernS\u00fcd area management, which coordinated the participation and preparation of the study.<\/p>\n<p>Accordingly, the S\u00fcdAllee is to be divided into three sections. The section from Eichhof to the Mattenhof traffic circle is an important traffic-oriented, settlement-compatible connection in the new residential areas being built here. First floor uses are intended to enliven the street.<\/p>\n<p>In the Kuonimatt section from Mattenhof to the Steinibach traffic circle, S\u00fcdAllee is not to become a through road for cars. The bus route will remain on Rosenstrasse and Kreuzstrasse. The north-south high-speed cycle route will not run through Kuonimatt, but via the so-called Bogenweg outside the district. The southern avenue through Kuonimatt is to become a design element for pedestrian and bicycle traffic with functions for the district - the design as a meeting zone with a speed limit of 20 km\/h and trees is conceivable, according to the press release. The study sees potential for upgrading Technikumstrasse in Horw. Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts is continuing to develop the campus and the concept study for S\u00fcdAlle will be incorporated into the study contract.<\/p>\n<p>The three municipalities see the S\u00fcdAllee concept study as \"a long-term project idea\", which will be implemented in stages with the involvement of local residents. According to the information provided, Kriens City Council is next planning to bring forward the implementation of the cycle path outside the Kuonimatt district through Grabenhof and Hinter Schlund, the so-called Bogenweg.<\/p>\n<p>Lucerne South is a cantonal development focus in the Kriens, Horw and Lucerne area. Over the next 20 years, residential areas and jobs for up to 15,000 people will be created between Pilatus, Sonnenberg and Lake Lucerne.
