Although the number of inhabitants has now been rising for 14 years, the lowest increase in this period was observed in 2018. Reasons are, on the one hand, a negative migration movement, but on the other hand, a special effect due to a data adjustment of about 300 people with expired short-term residence permit.<\/p>\n<p>The share of foreign resident population decreased by 0.35 percentage points to 24.1%, with Germans representing the largest group with 6,345 people - followed by people from Italy and Spain.<\/p>\n<p>In 2018, net migration is reported to be negative (-501). Compared to 2017, net migration was 1,110 persons lower due to fewer inflows (-634) and more outflows (+476).
