The pension fund for entrepreneurs, artists and freelancers has thus acquired the right to purchase the Ziegelhof site and has already bought it from the owner ZIAG. CoOpera already owns the Hanro site in Liestal. The former factory site houses, among other things, craft and commercial businesses, workshops, artists' studios and parts of the University of Applied Sciences of Northwestern Switzerland and the University of Teacher Education.<\/p>\n<p>CoOpera says that the existing, legally valid neighbourhood plan for the Ziegelhof site is not to be implemented. The pension fund wants to preserve as much of the building fabric as possible and invest around CHF 20 million in structural changes over the next five to seven years. During this time, the site will be used for interim purposes. CoOpera is planning a mix of commercial, cultural, therapeutic, retail and residential uses as the final use.
