Post Immobilien AG and SBB are planning a new urban ensemble in the form of the Nauentor in place of the dark red post office building that spans the tracks at the SBB train station in Basel.<\/p>\n

According to plans by the Basel architectural firm Morger Partner, the post office building is to be demolished down to the track-spanning support floor. On top of this, three new basement floors with various courtyards and the \"Nauentor-Magistrale\" will be built. The ensemble will be complemented by three high-rise buildings. Two will be located in the Peter-Merian-Br\u00fccke\/Nauenstrasse area, the third on Solothurnerstrasse.<\/p>\n

Within the framework of the zoning plan, the following are required according to a report of the Basel newspaper<\/em><\/a> 16 suggestions and objections were received. The Department of Construction and Transport is now reviewing the objections before the government decides on them and passes its bill for the attention of the Grand Council, it says. It is not yet known what exactly is being criticized about the large-scale project and from whom the objections originate.<\/p>\n
