The consultation process for the redevelopment of the Gr\u00fcnwald site in H\u00f6ngg has now been completed. However, before the architectural competition can begin, the City of Zurich is awaiting legally binding court rulings in two appeal proceedings.<\/p>\n

Two legal proceedings are currently pending: An objection to the Geering-, Frankentaler-, Regensdorferstrasse road project and an appeal against the revocation of utilization allocations in the neighbourhood plan.<\/p>\n

City Councillor Daniel Leupi and City Councillor Andr\u00e9 Odermatt, together with the developers - Baugenossenschaft Sonnengarten (BGS), Gemeinn\u00fctzige Bau- und Mietergenossenschaft Z\u00fcrich (GBMZ) and Stiftung Alterswohnungen (SAW) der Stadt Z\u00fcrich - have decided that the architectural competition can only start once legally binding rulings have been issued. This is expected to be the case at the end of 2019 for the road project and possibly not until the fall of 2020 for the appeal procedure for the neighborhood plan.<\/p>\n

Since 2004, the city has wanted to develop the 31,000 m2 Gr\u00fcnwald site for non-profit housing, including a kindergarten. The \"Ringling\" project, which was selected in a competition in 2005, failed in 2016 in appeal proceedings before the Federal Supreme Court. In 2017, the city council and the developers launched a new start.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
