The building lease agreement is to be concluded by the end of 2018 and submitted to the municipal council for approval. The Edith Maryon Foundation fulfills the conditions defined by the municipal council, according to the City of Bern. New non-profit living space will be created and the day school, which is already located on site, will be integrated into the utilization concept. The foundation also intends to continue the current uses in the best possible way. The foundation is to develop the site together with the Alte Feuerwehr Viktoria association and the Central housing cooperative.<\/a><\/p>\n

The site of the old fire station barracks is currently in interim use, and the current building permit for interim use and the corresponding rental agreements expire at the end of January 2019. As the quality assurance procedure - in particular for the planned new building in the area of the hall building on Gotthelfstrasse - cannot be carried out and the construction project cannot be tackled by then, a planning application for the extension of the interim use is to be submitted, according to the press release.<\/p>\n

As things stand at present and provided that the approval processes go according to plan, the quality assurance procedure could be carried out in 2019. This would allow the new residential buildings to be occupied for the first time in 2022. The old building on the corner of Viktoriastrasse and Gotthelfstrasse is only to be gently renovated.<\/p>\n

The Edith Maryon Foundation for the Promotion of Social Housing and Workplaces was established in Basel in 1990. It provides space and housing at the lowest possible cost, preferably for socio-cultural uses, and owns numerous properties in Switzerland and abroad.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
