A new urban quarter with around 1,140 apartments for 3,000 people is to be built on Viererfeld\/Mittelfeld. \"It should be urban, sustainable, free of obstacles and green, as well as forward-looking in terms of mobility and energy consumption,\" demands the municipal council, which sees great opportunities to realize a pioneering project.<\/p>\n<p>The development site is to become a spatially and socially mixed residential neighborhood with high ecological standards; at least half of the apartments will be realized by non-profit housing developers. The housing should be affordable for different income levels and appeal to different lifestyles, household types and age groups.<\/p>\n<p>The competition for the midfield\/field of four will be launched in January 2018. In a first step, 25 planning teams will be selected in a prequalification, including three to five young teams.
