The southern part was used by SBB until 2015 as an installation site for the construction of the Durchmesserlinie. A housing development with 100 to 120 apartments is now to be built there on an area of 8,300 square meters. For this purpose, the city wants to give the land in building rights to the municipal foundation for affordable and ecological housing - Einfach Wohnen (SEW). A school complex and a neighborhood park are to be built on a further 5,000 square meters each.<\/p>\n<p>A joint project competition is planned for the three subprojects, which is to start this year. In order for the housing development, the school and the park to be built, the required subareas must be rezoned.<\/p>\n<p>SEW's construction project is the third subproject on the Guggach site. The Allreal Group has realized the Guggach I development with condominiums, while the UBS pension fund is the developer on the Guggach II site, where rental apartments are being built.<\/p>\n<p>In addition to Guggach III, the SEW project, a twelve-class school building with a double sports hall is also planned on the site. The sports hall is to be sized so that sports clubs can also use it for championships, according to the city of Zurich. The neighborhood park is to be built between the housing development, the school and the part of the family gardens that will be retained.<\/p>\n<p>The project competition is scheduled to start in 2017 and is expected to be completed in mid-2018. The preliminary project for the settlement and the instruction to the municipal council for the building lease should be available by mid-2019, the construction project for the school and the park a year later, the city of Zurich says. In the first quarter of 2020, the necessary rezoning could be legally binding.
