Empira Group starts expansion in Switzerland
The Partners Group subsidiary has branches throughout Europe and the USA and now also wants to build up a Swiss residential portfolio.

The Empira Group has acquired its first residential development project in Switzerland. «Empira is launching its strategic expansion into the Swiss residential real estate market with the purchase of a site in the canton of Zug,» announces the investment manager and project developer, which has its roots in Switzerland but has mainly been active abroad to date. According to the information, a residential quarter with around 230 residential units, supplemented by commercial space and a kindergarten, will be built on the approximately 31,000 square meter site by 2029. Over 15 % of the living space is planned as affordable housing, according to the statement.
«Great potential»
«We see great potential in the Swiss residential real estate market and want to act as a reliable partner for institutional investors in the long term,» says Marcus Bartenstein, CEO of the Empira Group. The company is currently building up a Swiss team of experts under the leadership of Reimer Siegert. The team will be responsible for all activities in the Swiss market - from acquisition and project development to asset management. The aim is to build up a high-quality and sustainable Swiss portfolio with a focus on urban, sustainable residential districts in economically strong regions, says Siegert.
The purchase was made as part of a co-investment structure for qualified Swiss investors who invest in residential developments together with Empira. The financing was provided by a consortium consisting of Luzerner Kantonalbank, Raiffeisen Switzerland and Migros Bank.
The Empira Group manages assets of around USD 10 billion in Europe and the USA. Empira has been part of Partners Group since 2025. Headquartered in Zug, the Group has offices in Germany, Luxembourg, the USA, the UK, Sweden and Austria. (aw)
