The construction and real estate services provider Frutiger is acquiring a 30 % stake in Blumer Lehmann, a company specializing in timber construction based in Gossau (SG). The eastern Swiss construction company has 600 employees. A complete takeover of the share package by Frutiger is planned by 2029.

Frutiger was heavily involved in timber construction at the beginning of its company history, but only sporadically over the last 30 years. "With the investment in Blumer Lehmann, Frutiger is now consciously returning to its own DNA," writes the company. The acquisition will open up new opportunities, particularly in timber hybrid construction, in the realization of sustainable real estate projects and in geographical presence. The two companies also see synergies in complete offers for large-volume timber constructions.

With around 2,500 employees, Frutiger is one of the largest construction and real estate service providers in Switzerland. (aw)
