Medbase and the owners of Zahnarztzentrum.ch have signed an agreement to take over the majority of shares, according to Migros.

Zahnarztzentrum.ch, headquartered in Zurich, employs around 300 dentists at 34 locations in Switzerland, as well as specialists in orthodontics, implants and dental hygiene. The company says it is the largest provider of dental services in German-speaking Switzerland. Following the acquisition, it is to be gradually integrated into the Medbase Group.

Medbase intends to continue operating the existing dental centers. Dentistry is seen as part of integrated care and thus as a useful addition to the existing portfolio of services, says Marcel Napierala, CEO of Medbase, about the acquisition.

The transaction is currently being reviewed by the Competition Commission (WEKO). Both parties have agreed not to disclose details of the transaction. It is expected to be completed in the third quarter of this year. (ah)
