Martin Signer has been Head of Real Estate at Avobis since August 2018, and now he is also taking on the position of CEO.

Before joining Avobis, Signer worked for Swiss Life, among others, for around 16 years. For 13 years, he headed the real estate division there, which grew strongly during this time. Signer (born 1966) studied art and architectural history as well as urban planning in Montréal and completed postgraduate studies in business administration and building law at the universities of St. Gallen and Fribourg.

Two new additions to the Board of Directors

At the same time as the change in management, the Board of Directors is growing: Isabelle Welton and Kurt Birchler join the board.

Isabelle Welton is the owner of a consulting firm that focuses on corporate culture and change management. Prior to that, she was responsible for the HR function at Zurich Insurance Group, where her responsibilities included global marketing. From 2003 to 2013, she held various management positions at IBM.

Kurt Birchler worked at Partners Group from 1997 to 2011, where he was, among other things, CFO and Head of the Product Operations Business Department. After finishing his operational activities, he supported the company as Advisory Partner until the end of 2017. He then studied psychology at the University of Zurich and now works full-time as a psychologist.

Thomas Abegg, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Avobis Group, describes Signer's election as the new CEO as a commitment to "the growth strategy we have adopted with the three business areas of real estate, mortgages and outsourcing. The plan is to further expand all areas, especially real estate. (ah)
