Walde & Partner: Sabina Furler becomes new CEO
There will be a change at the top of Walde & Partner Immobilien at the end of the year: Gerhard E. Walde will hand over the operational management and concentrate on his duties as Chairman of the Board of Directors. Sabina Furler, most recently CEO at Beldona, will become the new Chairwoman of the Executive Board.
The staff handover is part of Walde & Partner Immobilien's longer-term succession planning, the company says. Gerhard E. Walde (63) founded the real estate service provider 32 years ago together with his wife Marianne, who remains in day-to-day business. Today, Walde & Partner employs over 50 people at six locations in the greater Zurich and Lucerne area as well as in Aargau.
The new CEO Sabina Furler (53) was initially a management consultant at McKinsey, after which she worked as Head of Marketing & Sales at Swissair and Kuoni Italy. She then moved into the watch and jewelry industry, where she was responsible for international sales at IWC Schaffhausen, among others. In 2008 she became CEO of the lingerie and swimwear company Beldona, where she was also responsible for marketing and sales for many years. Furler also sits on the advisory board of the German fashion chain E. Breuninger GmbH & Co in Stuttgart.
Gerhard E. Walde intends to focus on the strategic issues of the real estate company as Chairman of the Board of Directors from the beginning of 2018. "Not only is she ideally qualified as an experienced entrepreneur with outstanding leadership qualities, but her winning manner as well as her professional background in the travel, watch and fashion industries make her the ideal choice for us. As with residential real estate, it was primarily about emotion and trust."
As before, the Executive Board of Walde & Partner includes Thomas Moser, Head of Investment Properties, and Stefan Felber, Head of the Lucerne site. The Board of Directors consists of Chairman Gerhard E. Walde and members Marianne Walde, Dr. Markus Dörig and Andreas Widmer.
