Kentucky Fried Chicken (KFC) was already present in Switzerland in the 1980s, but had then withdrawn. As View and 20 minutes report, a comeback is now planned.

According to the report, KFC plans to announce the location for the opening of its first Swiss store by spring. In the long term, the chain wants to be represented at more than 50 locations in this country. The shortlist includes stores in the cities of Zurich, Geneva, Basel, Lausanne, Bern, Lucerne and Winterthur.

According to a KFC spokeswoman, initial agreements have been reached with Swiss restaurateurs and international franchise partners. In November 2016, the group registered the holding company KFC International with an address in Lucerne.
