Zurich: American Vintage opens first Swiss store
French fashion brand American Vintage opens its first store in Switzerland - in Zurich's Niederdorf. SPG Intercity Zurich brokered the location.
Founded in 2005 by French designer Mickaël Azoulay, American Vintage produces men's and women's clothing inspired by sleek American-style streetwear. Until now, the company was not represented in Switzerland, but with the support of SPG Intercity Zurich AG, this is now changing. American Vintage rents a retail store at Münstergasse 21, the former tenant of the store space being Liebeskind. The new flagship store is scheduled to open before Christmas.
"The Niederdorf location is ideal for innovative brands like American Vintage," says Gabriela Brandenberg, Head Retail Services at SPG Intercity Zurich AG. "Many young stores with creative concepts have settled here in recent years." Zurich's Niederdorf has undergone a major transformation and is once again attracting new, exciting companies, and demand for rental space is unbroken, Brandenberg says. (ah)
