Bern: New location for the Federal Chancellery
The current location of the FDFA, which is moving to Zollikofen, will be refurbished for the Federal Chancellery at a cost of CHF 27 million.

The Federal Office for Buildings and Logistics (FOBL) has submitted a planning application to the City of Bern for the conversion and renovation of the Bundesgasse 32 administration building. The building project is intended to bring the Federal Chancellery's offices together in one location.
The site is currently used by several FDFA units, which will move to Zollikofen. «The first floor and the two top floors will be structurally adapted and converted for modern forms of collaboration,» the FOBL announced. After the renovation, flexible workstations will be available for 240 employees.
Construction is scheduled to begin in January 2027 and the building is expected to be occupied by mid-2029. The cost estimate is CHF 27.3 million.
