Crans-Montana: high-altitude clinic sold
Following the failed sale of the Höhenklinik, the previous owner, Lucerne Cantonal Hospital, has now announced that the deal has been closed.

Lucerne Cantonal Hospital has sold its high-altitude clinic in Crans Montana to Berner Klinik Montana (BM). Nothing will change for patients and staff as a result of the transaction. The clinic will continue to operate in its existing form.
As the owner of the land and real estate, the Canton of Lucerne leases the main building and the «Villa Claire» staff residence to the BM for three years. The BM is also granted a purchase right for two years, with the price set at CHF 13.5 million. The purchase price for the clinic operations is dependent on LHM's annual financial statements for 2025.
An earlier sale of the facility fell through in the fall of 2024 (IB reported). The buyer, Swiss Medical Network SA, backed out of the deal because the financial situation of the high-altitude clinic had deteriorated. According to earlier reports, the sale price for the property and operations was to be CHF 12.5 million. (aw)
